A private museum in a wooden cottage from 1920 in Jaworzynka, with Istebna costumes, a kurny stove and workshops.
The "Na Grapie" Regional Museum is a private museum in Jaworzynka, in the hamlet of Gorzołki. It is housed in a wooden cottage from 1920, moved here, and shows the old life of the Beskid highlanders.
The museum was established in 1993 on the initiative of a writer and poet. It is run by the Society of Friends of the "Na Grapie" Regional Museum. A regional ensemble and a singing group operate at the museum.
The cottage displays Istebna costumes, everyday objects, musical instruments and works by local artists. In the room stands a kurny stove, set on inverted spruce roots and used for drying herbs. In a barn from the 1930s an exhibition of farm machinery and tools has been arranged.
The museum organises workshops, for example on making butter, bread and curd cheese by traditional methods, on blacksmithing, embroidery and basket weaving. The site also offers accommodation for 20 people.
A trail leads from the museum through Jasnowice, which further joins the route to Stożek Wielki and Wisła. The trail also reaches the Jerzy Kukuczka Memorial Room in Istebna, described as the Jerzy Kukuczka Memorial Room in Istebna. Also close by are Kurna Chata Kawuloka and the PTTK mountain hut on Stożek.
