OKO Centre of Fairy Tale and Animation

Bielsko-Biała
About OKO Centre of Fairy Tale and Animation

An interactive centre in the former Cartoon Film Studio, with an exhibition on the making of animation and the Kreska cinema.

The OKO Centre of Fairy Tale and Animation operates in the buildings of the former Cartoon Film Studio (Studio Filmów Rysunkowych) in Bielsko-Biała, at ulica Cieszyńska 24. The centre opened in May 2024. It combines an exhibition on the making of Polish animated films, a cinema and educational activities.

What does the permanent exhibition show?

The permanent exhibition occupies two floors and reveals how the studio's animated films are made. It is divided into themed spaces: the history of the studio, writing scripts and creating characters, making backgrounds, animation techniques and work on sound. There is also a 360-degree projection with seasonal scenes, and in one part the studio's awards and film screenings are presented.

How do individual visitors and groups tour it?

Individual visitors and families tour the exhibition on their own, without a guide. Guided tours are provided only for organised school groups and holiday day camps. The building houses the Kreska Cinema, which shows animated films and educational screenings for various age groups.
