Neo-Gothic brick palace from 1877 in Szałsza, modelled on English Tudor Gothic.
The palace in Szałsza, a village in the municipality of Zbrosławice, is a brick residence from 1877 in the Neo-Gothic style. It was modelled on English Tudor Gothic and is now privately owned, so it is best seen from the outside.
Construction was completed in 1877. The first owners were the Groelings, and the palace was built by Viktor von Groeling (1832-1903), who in 1857 married Hedwig von Rheinbaben (1835-1892). Two coats of arms are placed on the front gable.
The palace stands on a rectangular plan and its body is built of brick. Characteristic features are the turrets, the projecting bays and the crenellation crowning the building. It was entered in the heritage register in 1969.
The Gliwice Radio Tower is about 3.5 km away as the crow flies, so the palace is easy to combine with a visit to Gliwice.
