A city recreation park in Żory on the site of a former brickworks, with a rope park, a skatepark, a roller-skating track and a brine graduation tower.
Cegielnia Park in Żory is a city recreation park by Folwarecka and Wodzisławska streets, laid out on the site of a former brickworks. It has a playground and a rope park, a children's traffic town, a skatepark, a street workout park, an outdoor gym, a roller-skating track around the grounds and a brine graduation tower.
On the site of the park stood a large plant producing bricks, which ceased operating in the early 1990s.
The brickworks buildings were demolished in 1993, and the Cegielnia city park was created in their place. In 2016 the park won an online vote for the Best Public Space of the Silesian Voivodeship.
The park is geared towards active leisure, and most of its facilities are sports and play equipment.
The rope park covers about 400 m², and the professional children's traffic town has a roundabout, traffic lights, a speed bump and a one-way street, as well as road markings and signs, so children learn the rules of the road. The skatepark has several ramps and features of varying difficulty, including a bowl. A roller-skating track runs around the whole area, and there are also cycle paths and a self-service bicycle repair station. The Żory city website also lists among the facilities a brine graduation tower, lighting, bicycle shelters and a rope park.
The brine graduation tower is in the park, and nearby are Żory's museums and historic sites.
Next to the park, about 100 m away, stands the brine graduation tower.
About 1 km away is the Synagogue in Żory.
About 1.2 km from the park is the Museum of Fire.
The Kraków Gate in Żory lies about 1.2 km from the park.
