A historic landscape park from the 18th century, 13 ha, with ponds, a stream and erratic boulders.
Planty Park in Mikołów, also called the Large Planty (Duże Planty), is a historic landscape park of about 13 hectares, spread between the town centre and Wymyślanka. It was created in the 18th century on the initiative of the Mikołów cavalry captain Korwin-Wierzbicki.
In the past the park was called Charlottenthal, after the founder's beloved, Charlotta. She is commemorated by a stone with the names of both carved in a heart. In 2001 the park was renovated and entered in the heritage register.
The Aleksander stream, a tributary of the Jamna, flows through the park, and within it there are two ponds. On a hill in the centre stands a former park house, today the seat of the scouts of the Mikołów area. There are also erratic boulders from the Ice Age, benches and a playground. In spring the wood anemone blooms in the park.
From the park it is close to the municipal museum facility and the Basilica of St Adalbert; both places are less than a kilometre from the park.
