A square in Dąbrówka Mała on the site of a former Jordan garden, with a monument from 1960 dedicated to residents shot in 1940.
September Soldiers Square (Plac Żołnierzy Września) in Dąbrówka Mała in Katowice is a small green between Milowicka, Gen. Józef Haller and Strzelców Bytomskich streets. It holds a monument commemorating residents of the district shot in 1940.
The square is what remains of a Jordan garden (a public playground and recreation garden) laid out in the 1930s. The building at ul. Hallera 72, which houses a nursery school today, was built at the same time in the Functionalist style and is entered in the heritage register. During the war the place was called Gemeindepark, and the present name was officially given in 1986. In 2006 an inclusive playground for children was built here.
The monument was unveiled in 1960. It commemorates former Silesian insurgents and distinguished residents of Dąbrówka Mała who died in prisons and camps during the Second World War and were shot on 3 and 4 April 1940. The square has the character of a local place of remembrance.
