A forest reserve from 2015 protecting a site of about 30 century-old yews in the municipality of Żarki.
The Cisy Przybynowskie Nature Reserve protects a natural site of the common yew in the municipality of Żarki, in Myszków County. It was established on 22 August 2015. It covers 7.6 hectares, and a buffer zone of 20.82 hectares has been designated around it.
The aim of protection is to preserve, for scientific purposes, the natural site of the yew. The reserve contains about 30 century-old yews of tree habit, as well as young growth. Most yews are in the damper parts of the forest. The stand is made up of oak-hornbeam forest, ash-alder riparian forest and mixed coniferous forest.
The reserve is managed by the Złoty Potok Forest District, and supervision is exercised by the regional nature conservator in Katowice. The yews are protected by, among other things, fences against browsing by animals and the removal of competing vegetation. It is one of six yew reserves in the Silesian Voivodeship, located in the buffer zone of the Trail of the Eagles' Nests Landscape Park.
