A natural farm in Cięcina with a mini-settlement of old Beskid cottages, workshops and events.
Sopki Stopki is a natural farm in Cięcina, in the heart of the Żywiec Beskids, where alongside pastures and sheep a small settlement of old wooden houses is taking shape. The hosts move old highlander cottages here from the area and give them new functions.
The word sopki means the old small wooden highlander cottages of the Żywiec Beskids, and Stopka is the surname of the family that has long run a farm in Cięcina with sheep and horses. A mini-settlement is being built from the rescued houses, hosting workshops, dances and concerts.
Cows and a flock of several hundred sheep graze on the mountain pastures. In a traditional wooden shepherds' hut (bacówka) sheep's-milk cheeses are made by hand to old recipes. The hosts organise open events with local food, live music and a bonfire. The tabs of the website list Dom na Polanie (House in the Clearing), Dom na Biegunach (House on Rockers) and workshops.
