The site of a synagogue demolished in 1939 on Katowicka Street, commemorated by an obelisk with an inscription in Polish and Hebrew.
The synagogue in Czeladź no longer exists. It stood on Katowicka Street and was built in the interwar period. In 1939 the German occupiers forced the Jews of Czeladź to pull down their own house of prayer. It was not rebuilt after the war.
On the spot where the synagogue stood there is a commemorative obelisk. The inscription in Polish and Hebrew reads: “On this spot stood the house of prayer of the Jews of Czeladź and its surroundings, destroyed by the Nazi occupiers of Poland during the Second World War”.
