A brick synagogue in Brzezinka from 1910-1911, sold in 1922 and used commercially today.
The former synagogue in Brzezinka, a district of Mysłowice, is a brick building with an ornamental gable on the facade, which today serves entirely different purposes. It stands at Starowiejska 2.
The synagogue was built in 1910-1911 as a house of prayer of the Orthodox tradition. It was built of brick on a rectangular plan, with a vestibule on the west side and the main prayer hall to the east. The most recognisable feature is the ornamental gable of the main facade.
In 1922 the Jewish community in Brzezinka ceased to exist and the building was sold. Over the years it housed, among other things, a hairdresser's and later a second-hand clothes shop. Around 2017 the building was renovated and insulated. In the municipal register of monuments it is listed as a residential building, despite its original purpose.
Right next door, about 300 metres away, stands the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mysłowice. Two kilometres from here is the Mission Museum in Mysłowice.
