A municipal museum in an 18th-century manor house in Siewierz, with models of the castle and the former town hall.
The Traditions and Old Culture Room is a municipal museum in Siewierz, set up in an 18th-century manor house on Kościuszki Street. It has operated since 2005 and shows in a single building collections connected with the history of the small town.
The display includes archaeological exhibits, works of art and handicraft, tools of old trades and historical keepsakes. A separate group is made up of models: one shows Siewierz castle as it was at the end of the 18th century, the other the no longer existing town hall from the 16th century. The ruins of the castle itself can be seen nearby: this is the Bishops' Castle in Siewierz.
The building stands on the historic Bishops' Road (Trakt Biskupi), which linked Siewierz with Kraków. Since July 2011 the room has also housed a tourist information point, so you can ask here about further routes around the area, for example about the brine graduation tower.
