A wooden church from 1858 in Popów, a former chapel extended in 1938-1939, on the Wooden Architecture Trail.
The Auxiliary Church of St Joseph the Worker in Popów is a wooden, plastered building from the mid-19th century. It is part of the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship and is entered in the heritage register.
Construction was completed in 1858 as the Chapel of St Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1938-1939 it was enlarged with a wooden nave, and in 1953 a brick sacristy and a wooden porch were added, after which the whole was plastered. The parish in Popów was canonically established in 1957 and the dedication was then changed to St Joseph the Worker. When construction of a new, brick church began in 1979, the wooden one became an auxiliary church.
The church is oriented and of log construction. It has the plan of an elongated rectangle closed on three sides, a gabled roof with a hipped end at the west and a brick sacristy on the south. On the roof of the nave stands a four-sided turret for the sanctus bell with a pavilion roof. The interior is covered with a false vault.
The Wieluń Jura Trail runs through the area, and a little further the Nature Reserves Trail.
