Forest reserve in the municipality of Przyrów with a fir forest, rare in the northern part of the region, alder carrs and monumental oaks.
The Babski Las nature reserve lies in the municipality of Przyrów, in the north of the Silesian Voivodeship, partly within the Stawki Landscape Park. It covers 112.40 ha and includes a forest area with a fir forest that is rare in this part of the region.
Fir forest is rare throughout the Silesian Voivodeship, and in its northern part it is not found at all. Alongside it grow swampy alder carrs and old pedunculate oaks of monumental size. Rare species of plants, fungi and animals occur here, among them slender gentian, bird's-nest orchid, stagshorn clubmoss, European tree frog, slow worm and adder. White-tailed eagle, pygmy owl, black stork and middle spotted woodpecker nest here. Around the reserve a buffer zone of 310.96 ha has been designated.
