A protected area of about 152 ha in Pogrzebień, with semi-natural habitats and the “Bociek” educational trail.
The “Bociek” (Stork) nature and landscape complex is a protected area of about 152 hectares in Kornowac municipality, in the village of Pogrzebień. It was established by a resolution of the Municipal Council of 19 December 2019.
The complex lies on the Rybnik Plateau, between Lubomska, Wiejska and Potoki streets. It protects semi-natural habitats that are disappearing on a European scale and serves as an ecological corridor linked to the Oder valley. 54 bird species have been recorded here, including white storks, as well as 187 butterfly species. Among plants, the municipality lists the French rose, meadow saffron, lady fern and alpine arum.
The “Bociek” educational and nature trail runs through the complex, with information boards and a shelter, and the municipality has issued a guide to it. 11 prohibitions apply, including damaging the land, altering water conditions and collecting protected plants. Nearby stands the viewing tower in Pogrzebień.
