The oldest monument in the municipality of Przyrów, a Baroque branch church with seven scenes from the life of St Nicholas in the chancel.
The branch Church of St Nicholas in Przyrów stands on the site of the former village of Komorowo and is the oldest monument in the municipality of Przyrów. It belongs to the parish of St Dorothy in the Olsztyn deanery of the Archdiocese of Częstochowa.
The sources do not agree on when it was built: the church was erected either at the beginning of the 16th century or in the first half of the 17th century. It was built of rubble stone and brick on a rectangular plan, with a narrower chancel closed in a semicircle and a sacristy on the north. A square, three-storey tower adjoins it on the west. The chancel is covered by a dome with a lantern, the nave has a flat ceiling, and the roofs are covered with shingles. Renovations were carried out in 1852-1886 and in 1912, among other dates, and in 2009-2012 the facades and roofs were thoroughly restored.
Until 1999 there was a 17th-century altar here with a Gothic sculpture of St Nicholas, which was stolen by thieves. The present altar is Baroque and columned. The chancel has preserved painted decoration with seven scenes from the life of St Nicholas, inspired by the “Golden Legend”; its author and donor are unknown, and conservation work took place in 2013-2015.
