A brick church of 1924-1927 with a single tower and a high altar donated by workers.
The Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland and St Michael the Archangel stands on ul. Sienkiewicza in Blachownia. It is a brick church with a single tower topped by a dome and a cross, built in 1924-1927.
The building plot was blessed on 23 May 1924, and the foundation stone was laid on 6 July of that year. The design was made by the Warsaw engineer Konstanty Jakimowicz. The initiator was the parish priest from 1917, Marian Kubowicz. The church was consecrated on 4 September 1927 by the Bishop of Częstochowa, Teodor Kubina. After the war the interior was finished by the parish priest Marian Brylski (1945-1962), and in 1956 a terracotta floor was laid.
The church has three naves and three altars. The high altar was made by the Częstochowa sculptor Antoni Małek and was donated by the workers of the steelworks in Blachownia. The walls are decorated with hand-painted images of saints. The organ by the firm of Stefan Truszczyński of Włocławek has 15 stops, two manuals and a pedal. On 15 August 2008 a tornado damaged the dome and the cross, which were later repaired.
Not far away stands another church in Blachownia, the Church of the Most Holy Saviour.
