A Neo-Romanesque sandstone church, consecrated in 1868, with a Rieger organ from 1936.
The Church of St Andrew the Apostle in Zabrze is a Neo-Romanesque sandstone church, consecrated on 6 May 1868 and entered in the heritage register. Its tower, with a clock and a tall spire, can be seen from afar.
The church was designed by the builder Assmann; work lasted through the mid-1860s. In 1895-1896 a side aisle was added, and renovations were carried out in 1948 and in 1964-1965. The heritage register gives the construction years as 1863-1866, which differs from the consecration date in the parish history.
The church has a rectangular, single-nave body with a chapel, a gable roof and a semicircular apse of the chancel. The tower with a belfry stands on the axis of the façade, and the corners of the body are accented with pinnacles. The façades are made of sandstone with stonework details. The most valuable item of furnishing is the organ by the Rieger firm from 1936, with 37 stops, three manuals and a pedalboard, fully pneumatic.
