Church of St Francis of Assisi in Blachownia

The Church of St Francis of Assisi is a Roman Catholic parish church in Blachownia in Częstochowa County. The parish bears the same dedication.

Building the church

The church was built in 1986-2000. The first Mass was held in it on 4 October 1992, and on 25 April 1993 the church was blessed by Archbishop Stanisław Nowak of Częstochowa and Bishop Jan Purwiński of Zhytomyr. The consecration took place on 4 October 2000.

Blachownia also has the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Poland and St Michael the Archangel, about 1.2 km away. Not far off, by the water, lies the Blachownia Reservoir.
