A wooden church from 1947-1948 moved from Jaworzynka to Istebna-Mlaskawka in 1997, on the Wooden Architecture Trail.
The Church of St Joseph in Istebna is a wooden church in the hamlet of Mlaskawka, a branch of the parish of Our Lady of Fatima in Stecówka. It was built in Jaworzynka and moved to Istebna in 1997. It belongs to the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship.
In Jaworzynka-Trzycatek a stone chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Frýdek was built in 1866, and in 1947-1948 a wooden church was erected there. In 1997 the building was dismantled, moved to Mlaskawka and consecrated on 24 May 1997 as the Church of St Joseph.
The church is built of horizontal logs, in the tradition of regional wooden building. It has a single nave on a rectangular plan with a chancel and a porch, and a square wooden bell tower with a pyramidal roof. The roof, formerly covered with shingles, was later covered with corrugated sheet metal. The interior is entirely of wood and modestly furnished. The bas-reliefs of the Stations of the Cross and the tabernacle in the form of a chapel on a pillar were made by Jan Krężelok of Koniaków, and the cross of the main altar by Józef Bocek of Mlaskawka.
The closest are the Church of Our Lady of Fatima in Istebna (about 1.6 km) and Kawulok's Smoke Cottage. Further away is the Lace Museum in Koniaków.
