Neo-Baroque parish church from 1934 in Pszów-Krzyżkowice, with a single tower and furnishings from the 1940s.
The Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus stands in Krzyżkowice, part of Pszów, on ulica Armii Krajowej. It is a neo-Baroque parish church with a single tower, built in 1934.
Deliveries of materials began on 10 January 1934, the foundations were blessed on 19 March, and the first brick was laid on 1 April 1934. The builder was Walenty Maciejek of Pszów. The church was consecrated on 8 December 1934, and an independent parish was established on 3 November 1935. It has one nave with a transept.
The organ was made by the Klimosz firm of Rybnik. The high altar was created in 1949 by Prof. Maciejewski of Kraków, the image of the Heart of Jesus was painted by Fr Prof. Kramarczyk, and the figures of the apostles were made in 1950 by Prof. Kalfas, also of Kraków. The clock comes from the Ranscher firm of Regensburg. Of the four bronze bells, three were requisitioned during the war.
Nearby, about 1.7 km away, stands the Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Pszów, and the Pszów Calvary lies less than a kilometre from the church.
