A three-nave basilica of 1910-1911 with a tower over 42 m high and a portal of glazed brick.
The Church of the Transfiguration in Bobrowniki Śląskie (Piekary Rudne) is a three-nave basilica of brick and stone, built in about 17 months in 1910-1911. It stands at ul. Księdza Wiktora Sojki 3.
Permission to build was given on 26 May 1910 by Cardinal Georg von Kopp. Work began in June, the foundation stone was laid on 10 July 1910, and the consecration took place on 19 November 1911. The design was made by the architect Karol Kobsch. The style is described as eclecticism with a predominance of Neo-Romanesque features.
The church is 34.45 m long and 22.44 m wide, and the tower measures 42.25 m and is topped with a copper dome. The main nave is covered with cross vaults, the chancel is semicircular, and the ceramic portal of glazed brick comes from a workshop in Legnica. The church holds about 3,650 people. The organ of 22 stops was built by Dominik Biernacki, and the instrument was renovated in 2011. Four bells hang in the tower.
In the area lies the washery spoil heap in Tarnowskie Góry.
