A Lutheran toleration church from 1788-1797 in Drogomyśl, Classicist, rebuilt after a fire and wartime damage.
The Evangelical Augsburg Church in Drogomyśl is one of the Lutheran toleration churches in Cieszyn Silesia. It was built at the end of the 18th century as one of the last in this group. It has a Classicist brick body, and its interior has three naves, with galleries along the sides.
After Emperor Joseph II's Patent of Toleration of 1781, Evangelicals could build their own churches, though with restrictions. Permission to build in Drogomyśl was obtained on 4 June 1787, and the foundation stone was laid on 25 May 1788. The founder was Baron Friedrich Heinrich Calisch, then owner of the village. Until the building was completed, services were held in his palace. The church was blessed on 15 October 1797.
The Patent did not allow towers to be built, so permission to add a tower was obtained only in 1792, as an exception. Above the portal hangs a foundation plaque with a Latin inscription and the Calisch coat of arms.
The church burned down in 1888, and during the Second World War it was destroyed in the fighting. The rebuilding was completed in 1951. Inside there is an altar and the entrance to a crypt, and behind the church is an Evangelical cemetery with a cross.
In the village itself stands the Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa, and about 2 km further on the open-air museum in Ochaby.
