A branch of the Częstochowa Museum in a former presbytery from 1875, earlier the bishops' residence.
The Good Art Gallery is housed in a single-storey building on Blessed Virgin Mary Avenue in Częstochowa and is a branch of the Częstochowa Museum. The house on the corner with Nowowiejskiego Street has stood since 1875 and over the decades changed its purpose several times.
The building was put up in 1875 as the presbytery of Orthodox clergy, hence its old name “popówka” (the priest's house). In the interwar period it served as the seat of the bishops of Częstochowa. In 1973 it was taken over by the District Museum in Częstochowa, which set up a Contemporary Art Gallery in it.
After renovation, in 2007, a permanent display of souvenirs connected with pilgrimages to Jasna Góra, called the Pilgrimage Museum, was opened in the building. Temporary exhibitions were also held here, mainly on sacred themes, with exhibits borrowed from the shrine. Interest in the venue turned out to be small, and after changes in the city and an audit of the museums, in autumn 2010 it was renamed the Good Art Gallery.
In 2013 the seat of the Częstochowa Museum's management was moved into the building, and part of the collections went to another branch, the General's Villa. In the summer of that year a permanent exhibition of Polish painting from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries was set up.
