Głęboki Dół

Tarnowskie Góry
About Głęboki Dół

A small forest lake in the Lubliniec Forests, about 3.8 ha, on the border of Tarnowskie Góry and Miasteczko Śląskie.

Głęboki Dół is a small body of water in the Lubliniec Forests complex, in the Pniowiec district of Tarnowskie Góry, right on the border with Miasteczko Śląskie.

A lake in the forest

The lake covers about 3.8 ha and lies in the Miasteczko Forestry, which belongs to the Świerklaniec Forest District. The Graniczna Woda stream flows through it, and dense reeds grow along its shores.

It is not known exactly when and how it was formed. The reservoir already existed in the 19th century, as it appears on maps of the area from 1883.

Where it is

It is about 4 km from the centre of Miasteczko Śląskie, about 5 km from Tarnowskie Góry and about 6 km from Kalety. Nearby there are other places by the water, such as Lake Chechło-Nakło, as well as Rubin Park in Miasteczko Śląskie.

Practical information

  • Location: forest on the border of Tarnowskie Góry (Pniowiec) and Miasteczko Śląskie.
  • Dense reeds grow along the shores, so this is a place to look at from a forest track, not a bathing spot.
  • Check the details of how to get there and the rules for using the forest with the Świerklaniec Forest District.
