A park from the late 19th century on the site of former calamine workings, with a villa, a stage and viewpoints.
Rubin Park in Miasteczko Śląskie was created in 1880-1900 on the site of former calamine and ferruginous ochre extraction. The terrain left by the workings gives it a varied profile, and a renovated villa stands in the park.
The land was bought from a local resident by a wealthy doctor, Ryszard Rubin (according to other sources, by his father Michael). A small manor house with a tower was built on the plot. The original layout had gazebos, pergolas, a sundial and a fountain, and in a former quarry pit there was a pond. The whole was surrounded by a high wall.
The paths are gravel, and there are lamps, benches and bins. On the grounds there is a stage with a wooden roof on steel posts, with six rows of five benches, and on one of the rises stands a fountain. Steps with handrails lead to viewpoints. Hornbeam, beech, small-leaved lime and horse chestnut grow here. The villa was renovated in 2012, the park was revitalised in 2015, and in 2023 a salt inhalation facility was added.
Nearby stand the Church of St George and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the former synagogue.
