The oldest city park in Świętochłowice, from 1866, with a bunker of 1937 and a monument to the Silesian Insurgents.
Park im. Mieszkańców Heiloo (the Heiloo Residents Park), called Park Heiloo, is the oldest city park in Świętochłowice. It was laid out in 1866 in Piaśniki, by today's ul. Powstańców Śląskich and ul. Bytomska. It covers about 6 ha and is entered in the municipal register of monuments.
The present name was given in memory of the cooperation between Świętochłowice and the Dutch town of Heiloo, which began in the 1980s.
Next to the park a group of buildings of the Silesian Joint-Stock Company for Zinc Mining and Smelting has survived. It includes the company's management building of 1859, which in 1919 was the seat of the Grenzschutz Ost and after 1945 served as a kindergarten and administrative building. In the park stands the historic combat bunker no. 39 from the second line of defence of the "Silesia" Fortified Area of 1937, entered in the heritage register. Next to it a watchtower has been placed, probably from the Second World War, moved from the grounds of the Hajduki Chemical Works. At the edge of the park is a monument in honour of the Silesian Insurgents, on the spot where insurgents were murdered during the first Silesian Uprising. Children have a multi-part playground here.
