The oldest park in Chorzów, founded in the early 1870s, covering about 2.5 hectares and listed in the heritage register.
Hutników Park, formerly the Steelworkers' Park (Park Hutniczy), is the oldest park in Chorzów. It was laid out in the early 1870s on the initiative of Hugo Henckel von Donnersmarck on an area known as Tempelwiese, where a depression had been left after earlier coal extraction. It was filled with earth dug out when the nearby steelworks pond was made.
At first the park was only 86 ares in size, served only the employees of the Królewska Huta ironworks and was closed at night. In 1890-1895 it was enlarged with adjoining wasteland, creating a quadrangle of about 2.5 hectares. In 1941 paths radiating outwards were laid out. It was revitalised in 1998 and again in 2014, when the paths were paved with setts and granite slabs. The park once had a bandstand, a dance floor, a restaurant and a bowling alley, and in the interwar years a playground replaced the pond.
The greenery consists of decades-old maples, plane trees, sycamores, hornbeams, ashes, horse chestnuts, oaks, tree magnolias and ginkgos. In front of the Registry Office building from 1964, known as the wedding palace, stand a sculpture by Jerzy Kwiatkowski depicting a woman and a man, and a fountain. On the other side of the street stands the Teatr Rozrywki.
