The area is bounded by Korfantego Avenue, Alfreda Square and Alfreda, Telewizyjna and Daszyńskiego streets, and on the side of the allotment gardens it borders the Florian allotment garden. The tree stand consists of deciduous species: aspen, Norway maple, sycamore, black locust and silver birch. The land belongs to the city of Katowice.

Origin of the name

The name Lasek Alfreda was officially given by a resolution of the City Council of 30 May 2011. The resolution confirmed a customary name long used by the residents of the district. In the neighbourhood lies the Silesian Park, which is less than two kilometres from the wood.
