An active Mariavite cemetery established in 1906 at the parish of St Mary Magdalene in Gniazdów.
The Mariavite cemetery in Gniazdów was established in 1906 and is still in use. It belongs to the parish of St Mary Magdalene in Gniazdów, linked with the Old Catholic Mariavite Church in Poland.
From 1898 the parish was led by Fr Maria Hieronim Skrzypiciel, who founded the cemetery. In 1914 the residents built a brick church, producing the materials by their own effort. In 2001 remains from the Mariavite cemetery in Dąbrowa Górnicza were moved to the cemetery in Gniazdów. The last recorded burial dates from 2021.
Nearby, in Koziegłowy, stands the Mariavite Church of St Paschal, which lets you get to know this community through its architecture.
