A memorial room devoted to the battle of 1 September 1939, in the same building as the Przeworsk Culture Museum in Mokra near Kłobuck.
The Memorial Room of the Battle of Mokra is located in the village of Mokra, about 5 km north of Kłobuck. Together with the Przeworsk Culture Museum it forms an institution devoted to the history of the area: ancient cemeteries and the fighting of early September 1939.
The Battle of Mokra took place on 1 September 1939. The Wołyńska Cavalry Brigade under Colonel Julian Filipowicz, supported by infantry, anti-tank artillery and the armoured train “Śmiały”, delayed the advance of the German 4th Panzer Division. The brigade stopped a breakthrough of the front at this place and in the evening withdrew to further positions.
The institution was opened on 11 November 2010. The memorial room gathers keepsakes and exhibits connected with the September fighting. The second part of the exhibition shows archaeological finds: in 1994-2004 archaeologists from the Jagiellonian University discovered in the area about 500 graves of the Przeworsk culture from the 2nd to 5th century.
The fallen soldiers were buried in a common grave in the cemetery in Miedźno. In the village stands a monument unveiled on 9 May 1975. The battlefield and the monument were placed under protection as a monument in 2020.
