A Zabrze collection of military vehicles and equipment from the Polish People's Army and the Second World War, which grew out of the Grupa Śląsk association.
The Military Technology Museum in Zabrze presents military vehicles and equipment from the time of the Polish People's Army and the Second World War. It grew out of the association Mała Armia "Grupa Śląsk" (Little Army "Silesia Group"), active since 1995, and was established as a museum in November 2011. The display is at ul. Mochnackiego 12.
The collection includes tanks and armoured vehicles, for example the T-34/85, T-72, BTR-152 and MT-LB, as well as lorries such as the Kraz 255B, Star 266, Star 660 and ZiS-150. The exhibits also include the UAZ 469 and Tarpan Honker off-road vehicles, a BRDM-2 with a 9K31 Strela-1 launcher, Neva and Volkhov missile launchers and a ZIS-3 divisional gun.
The collection also includes aviation: MiG-21, Su-20 and An-2 aircraft. The exhibits are being gradually completed and restored to working order, and in 2016 about 90 per cent of the vehicles were in working technical condition.
The museum's website uses the name Military Technology Park, and the tab with the exhibits is titled Machine Park. The museum's website carries reports on military picnics and other events organised in the park.
Nearby, about 300 metres away, stands the water tower in Zabrze.
Less than a kilometre from here operates the Guido Mine and Coal Mining Museum.
