A forest reserve in the municipality of Panki with about 650 Polish larches aged 100-170 years and oaks older than 200 years.
The Modrzewiowa Góra reserve in the municipality of Panki protects fragments of old mixed forest with Polish larch. It lies near the village of Zwierzyniec Trzeci, in Kłobuck County.
It is a phytocoenotic reserve with an area of 49.27 ha, established by an order of the Minister of Forestry and Timber Industry of 17 May 1957. It is managed by the Kłobuck Forest District.
Protection covers small fragments of forest which, because of their age, location and structure, are regarded as natural and forming a local ecotype. It is a mixed forest with a large share of Polish larch: about 650 trees aged between 100 and 170 years grow here. There are also oaks more than 200 years old.
Plants include alder buckthorn, sweet woodruff and lily of the valley. Among animals are ground beetles, the tęcznik, the purple emperor butterfly, newts and toads, and among birds the hobby, the kestrel, the long-eared owl and the green and black woodpeckers.
