Monument to Gerard Cieślik at the Silesian Stadium

The monument to Gerard Cieślik stands in front of the management building of the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów. It was unveiled on 13 September 2022.

The sculpture

The figure is cast in bronze. It is 1.70 metres tall and weighs over 160 kilograms. The footballer is shown in the national team kit he wore in the Poland v USSR match at the Silesian Stadium on 20 October 1957. The unveiling was attended by Gerard Cieślik's son Jan and former Poland internationals.

The monument lies near Silesian Park and the Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park.
