A branch of the Częstochowa Museum in the former home of the poet Halina Poświatowska at ul. Jasnogórska 23, opened in 2007.
The House of Poetry - Halina Poświatowska Museum is a branch of the Częstochowa Museum, housed in the poet's former home at ul. Jasnogórska 23. It was opened to visitors on 9 May 2007.
The exhibition occupies three main rooms and is based on mementoes: photographs, letters and books. The poet's poems are presented on boards. The rooms are colour-coded: two green ones are devoted to her work, and the red one to her private life.
In the red room six display cases lead through successive periods: childhood, her marriage to Adolf Poświatowski, the heart operation performed in the United States, her studies, and life in Kraków and in Częstochowa. The last case also contains material about her travels and friends.
In the first green room two display cases show editions of her books. In the second green room you can watch a multimedia presentation of photographs and listen to recordings of the poet's voice and to songs made from her poems.
The museum lies in the city centre, close to the Częstochowa Museum in the town hall and not far from Jasna Góra.
