A bronze monument to the heroes of the Bolek and Lolek cartoon, unveiled in 2011 in the centre of Bielsko-Biała.
The Bolek and Lolek Monument in Bielsko-Biała is a bronze sculpture of the two heroes of a popular cartoon, unveiled in the city centre on 19 May 2011. It stands in the courtyard on Mostowa Street, next to the southern building of the Sfera gallery.
The two figures point their fingers at a globe on which Bielsko-Biała is marked. The sculpture is about 130 cm high and weighs about 254 kg. It was cast in bronze, like the Reksio monument.
Bolek and Lolek are the heroes of a series of animated films made from 1963 by the Bielsko Cartoon Film Studio (Bielskie Studio Filmów Rysunkowych). The monument is thus a reminder of the animation for which the city is known.
The sculpture belongs to the "Fairy-Tale Bielsko-Biała" trail, which leads to places connected with the city's cartoon characters. Nearby, about 300 metres away, stands the Reksio Monument in Bielsko-Biała, and alongside are the Banialuka Puppet Theatre and the Bielska BWA Gallery.
