The outlet of an adit from the late 18th century in Strzybnica, whose water fed a smelter.
The portal of the “Boże Wspomóż” adit is the outlet of a historic adit in Tarnowskie Góry-Strzybnica, on Artura Zawiszy Street. The adit (German: Gotthelf) is part of the Tarnowskie Góry underground water management system.
The first “Boże Wspomóż” adit was driven in 1652-1695, but it was then abandoned, and at the beginning of the 18th century quicksand collapsed its whole length. In 1785, thanks to the efforts of Friedrich Wilhelm von Reden of the Higher Mining Office in Wrocław, it was decided to build a new adit, Gotthelf, and work began a year later. Its outlet, known as the roznos, was marked out in the valley of the Stoła river in Strzybnica, at the site of the roznos of the old adit. Most of the tunnel was driven along a new route in a south-easterly direction.
The adit's discharge channel fed the Fryderyk smelter. Ore smelting in its two shaft furnaces began on 27 September 1786, using water from this channel, and the ore was supplied from the Royal Fryderyk Mine in Bobrowniki Śląskie.
