A city park from 1912 in Milowice, covering 0.9 ha, with robinia and horse chestnut trees.
Prince Józef Poniatowski Park is in Milowice, a district of Sosnowiec, on Baczyńskiego and Studzienna streets. It was laid out in 1912 on farmland left by a former manor farm.
The park belonged to the Wiktor mine, later the Milowice mine, and flourished in that period. It had swings, roundabouts, a slide and a sandpit, and the whole was surrounded by a high fence. During the Second World War the park was destroyed, after the war it was re-created, and in the 1960s it was fenced again.
It now covers 0.9 ha; originally it had about 2 ha. Today black locust predominates, and there are also horse chestnuts, silver birches and maples, and by the small shrine two magnificent black poplars.
