A private collection of military vehicles and artillery in Bielsko-Biała, begun in 1988.
The Private Museum of Armoured Weapons and Militaria in Bielsko-Biała is a collection of military vehicles whose beginnings go back to 1988. The museum is located at Pasterska 18. The collection is privately owned, and the museum organises the International Military Vehicle Rally “Operacja Południe”.
Until 2000 the collection consisted only of military off-road vehicles. It was later extended with combat vehicles and artillery. The collection includes, among others, a T-55 AM tank, BRDM-2, BTR-152 and M16 Halftrack armoured personnel carriers, lorries, an ATS-59 G artillery tractor and ZIS-3 and D-44 guns. The Foundation for the Protection of Military Technology Monuments has its seat at the same address.
Enthusiasts of technology will also find in the city the Automotive Museum in Bielsko-Biała, about a kilometre away. In the centre of Bielsko-Biała stands the Castle of the Sułkowski Dukes.
