A hut in the Żywiec Beskids opened in 1932, on a meadow above Złatna and Rajcza, about 15 minutes' walk from Hala Rysianka.
The PTTK mountain hut on Hala Lipowska stands in the Żywiec Beskids, a few hundred metres east of the summit of Lipowski Wierch, at an altitude of over 1,200 metres above sea level.
Construction began in 1931 on the initiative of the German Beskidenverein, and the official opening took place on 6 August 1932. The building then had 5 rooms with 22 beds, a kitchen, a dining room and utility rooms. In 1936 a telephone line was installed. At the end of 1944 a military crew conducting observation of the area was stationed in the building. After the war the hut was put into use on 9 June 1946; it then had 32 beds, 20 of which were described as primitive. The modernisation of 1973-1980 mainly preserved the basement, and the rest was rebuilt completely. The hut's website says that it is run by a family whose tradition goes back to 1969.
Four trails lead to the hut. The green one from Hala Boracza takes about 2 hours uphill, the yellow one from Rajcza via Hala Redykalna about 3.2 hours, and the blue one from Złatna about 3 hours. The shortest section is the green trail from Hala Rysianka, about 15 minutes each way. Hala Rysianka, with its own hut, therefore lies literally next door. Rysianka itself lies about 0.5 km from the hut.
Walking times depend on fitness and weather, so treat them as approximate. Before setting out, also check the current state of the trails.
The hut has rooms for 3, 4, 8 and 10 people, and the number of beds is 43 according to some sources and 48 according to the hut's website. On site there are a dining room for 44 people, a buffet, a common room with a television and a sauna. A bonfire can be arranged at the nearby bacówka. The hut's website promises home cooking.
Nearby lies the Pod Rysianką nature reserve, about 1.6 km from the hut.
