A mountain hut from 1897 at an altitude of 1,001 m above sea level, open all year, with views of the Beskids and the Tatras.
The PTTK mountain hut on Szyndzielnia stands at an altitude of 1,001 metres above sea level, just below the summit of Szyndzielnia in the Silesian Beskids, in Bystra municipality. The building with a small tower has been operating since 1897, and from its windows you can see the Żywiec Basin, the Little Beskids, Babia Góra, Pilsko and, in good weather, the Tatras.
The hut was built by the Bielsko section of the Beskidenverein after a fire at the Klementynówka hut near Klimczok. Construction began in 1896, and on 17 July 1897 the building was consecrated and ceremonially opened the next day. The design was prepared by Wilhelm Schlesinger, and it was built by the firm of the architect Karl Korn in brick-and-timber construction, with a characteristic small tower modelled on Alpine huts.
In 1907 a wooden Swiss-style cottage was added and a small bell was installed, in 1911 a water supply was built, and in 1923 a small ski jump. In 1954-1957 the hut was extended.
During the Second World War the building served paramilitary purposes, and in February 1945 it was hit several times by Soviet shells. The pre-war PTTK branches were reactivated on 18 February 1945, and on 22 July 1945 the hut was brought back into use. Its first Polish manager was Anna Maciejna.
On 8 October 1985 a fire broke out in the area of the tower. Afterwards the roof was covered with sheet metal, whereas earlier it had shingles.
Today the hut has 49 beds in rooms for 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 people, and a home kitchen. It is open all year. On site there are board games, table tennis, table football and a place for a campfire, and with a reservation you can use a remote working space with six desks. A permanent GOPR duty post operates nearby, and next to the hut is the Alpinarium, founded in 1905 by Edward Schnack.
Walking trails and a gondola lift lead to the hut. From the upper station of the lift to the hut it is about a 15-minute walk, and the road is suitable for prams and wheelchairs. From the hut trails lead: yellow to Klimczok (about 45 minutes), red to Kowiorek (about 45 minutes), and also yellow, green and red downhill, to Olszówka, in 1.5 to 2 hours.
The summit itself is described in the entry for Szyndzielnia, and on neighbouring Klimczok stands the PTTK Mountain Hut on Klimczok. The lower station of the lift is described in the entry Szyndzielnia Cable Car - Lower Station.
