A city park on the Czarna Przemsza in Sosnowiec with a multisensory garden, an orchard, a rose garden and green mazes.
Scout Park (Park Harcerski) in Sosnowiec, commonly called "Koła" (the Circles), lies on the Czarna Przemsza river, behind the flood embankments, between the Medical Academy estate and Ostrogórska Street. It is an extension of Schön Park on 1 Maja Street.
The park was created after the course of the Czarna Przemsza was regulated, on the floodplain. In the past a road-safety training town run by the Sosnowiec ZHP (Polish Scouting Association) operated here, hence the park's name, and what remains of it are the characteristic circular paths.
In 2012 the park was handed over to Special School Complex no. 4 in Sosnowiec. By 2017 a multisensory garden had been created here in three stages, intended as a place of therapy for pupils with disabilities and of integration with non-disabled people. The garden is fenced, but open to all residents.
The modernisation provided new paths, benches, CCTV and lighting, green mazes of about 1,300 shrubs, a ring of flowering Japanese cherries, an orchard with over 60 trees of old varieties of apple, pear, plum and cherry, and a rose garden with a 12-metre pergola. There is also a playground with a mini rope park, an open-air gym, a chess corner for seniors, a ring of rustling grasses, a deckchair zone under a pergola and a training circle for dogs for the sport of Rally-O.
