A square in the centre of Nikiszowiec dedicated to the architects of the housing estate, with a garden monument from 1835 and a Polish inscription.
Emil and Georg Zillmann Square lies in the middle of the historic Nikiszowiec housing estate in Katowice. It was named in honour of the two German architects who designed the estate.
The square commemorates Emil and Georg Zillmann, the authors of the design of the workers' housing estate around which the life of the district revolves today. It was named by a resolution of the Katowice City Council of September 2009. Nearby are Wyzwolenia Square, the parish Church of St Anne with its catechetical house and presbytery, and a small bistro.
Since 17 March 2016 the square has held a garden monument that was created in 1835 on the promenades near the hunting lodge in Janów. It carries an inscription with a poem by its founder, Aleksander Mieroszewski. It is one of the oldest inscriptions in the Polish language in Katowice.
