A historic landscape park from the second half of the 19th century in a spa town, with a brine graduation tower and gazebos.
The Spa Park in Goczałkowice-Zdrój is a historic landscape park from the second half of the 19th century, around which the spa developed. It is entered in the heritage register. In 2010-2015 it was revitalised and today it has gazebos, a brine graduation tower and tables for playing chess.
Goczałkowice-Zdrój is one of two spa towns in the Silesian Voivodeship. It began with a borehole searching for salt, which in 1856 struck brine at a depth of 616 metres. The analysis of the waters was good enough that the first treatment season began in June 1862, and that year 262 patients came. The spa park of the second half of the 19th century is a work of the same period, has a landscape character and appears in the heritage register.
After the revitalisation the park has openwork gazebos, a sundial, tables for playing chess, an outdoor gym and a magnesium-sodium brine graduation tower.
From the park it is about five kilometres to Pszczyna with its castle and the Pszczyna Village Farmstead. Close by also stands the Church of St Martin in Ćwiklice.
