The Urban Transport Heritage Room (Izba Tradycji Komunikacji Miejskiej) is a small museum facility run by the Sosnowiec Urban Transport Company, in Będzin at Promyka 30. Its collections concern the history of local bus transport.
The room was founded in October 2013. The collection includes uniforms, documents, tickets, workshop equipment and bus components. There are also historic vehicles: a Jelcz 043 RTO known as the “cucumber” (ogórek), an Ikarus 260.04, an Ikarus 280.26, a Jelcz M11 and a technical rescue vehicle built on an Ikarus chassis.
According to the operator's website, the room can be seen by prior appointment. Contact details for bookings are given in the Izba Tradycji tab on the PKM Sosnowiec website. Check the current rules before your visit, because the organiser may change them. After your visit you can look in at Będzin Castle, a little over a kilometre away.
