About Wzgórze Gallery

A private art gallery with a café, a concert stage and an independent cinema in a townhouse in the Old Town of Bielsko-Biała.

Wzgórze Gallery is a private art gallery with a café and a stage in a two-storey townhouse at ul. Wzgórze 4 in the Old Town of Bielsko-Biała. It has operated since 16 April 1987. Paintings hang on all the walls of the building, and gallery gardens are hidden in the nooks of the townhouse.

What you can see here

According to the gallery's website there are three exhibition rooms and a spacious corridor. You can view, and also buy, works by contemporary painters, pastels, prints and watercolours. The founder's collection also includes works by recognised artists, among them Tadeusz Kantor and Wojciech Kossak. All of this is in a building in which it is easy to get lost.

Café, concerts and cinema

The gallery includes a music club, a café, a commercial art gallery and the Bielsko Independent Cinema. Lectures, philosophical meetings, poetry evenings and solo exhibitions are organised. The website lists separate series: exhibition openings, concerts on the stage upstairs and “Poezja na Wzgórzu” (Poetry on the Hill). The history of the gallery is, as it says, hundreds of exhibitions, concerts and film screenings.
