A permanent exhibition in the author's house in Piotrowice, with miniature books, among them a Latin alphabet measuring 0.8 by 1 mm.
The Museum of the World's Smallest Books is housed in a private home in Katowice's Piotrowice district, where Zygmunt Szkocny lived and worked. It is a permanent exhibition of miniature versions of outstanding works of Polish literature.
The exhibition has been open since 1970. It shows 87 copies from 165 miniature works. The smallest of them, a Latin alphabet measuring 0.8 by 1 millimetre, made it into the Guinness Book of Records.
Each book has a binding made by the author according to bookbinding rules and stands on a pedestal with a precise description: dimensions, number of characters and pages. The subjects of the miniatures are the lives of famous people, Nobel Prize winners and famous events. Each item therefore has a description with figures that allow you to judge how small these books are.
