Events in Żywiec: films at Kino Janosik, plays and concerts at the Miejskie Centrum Kultury and the amphitheatre under Grojec. Pick a day.
The calendar lists a few dozen events, and film screenings make up well over half of them. The rest are theatre, music and cabaret. Żywiec is a smaller centre than the conurbation, so the choice of venues is short and easy to grasp.
Two places dominate the calendar: Kino Janosik and the Miejskie Centrum Kultury (the municipal cultural centre). The first accounts for most of the screenings, the second for stage events. Three other locations appear one event at a time: Amfiteatr pod Grojcem, Kawiarenka Przystań and the Papiernia club at the Beskidzki Browar Rzemieślniczy, a craft brewery.
The calendar says little about the last three, so you learn the programme only from the event description. An amphitheatre suggests an open-air stage, so before you go check the description to see whether the event has a plan for bad weather.
The most frequent is cinema in Żywiec, with several dozen screening dates. Next come theatre performances and concerts, and there are a few cabaret shows. To see the whole picture, open the page of events in Żywiec and narrow the list to one day.
For a film it is enough to pick a day, because the cinema has the most dates and it is easiest to fit one into your plans. A stage event is worth checking earlier, since plays and concerts are clearly fewer and cabaret shows number only a few. If you care about one particular type, go straight to its page instead of browsing all entries in turn.
In a town of this size the calendar can be shorter on weekdays than at the weekend, so when you come to Żywiec for a single evening it helps to keep two versions of the plan.
The town has several dozen entries among the sights of Żywiec. The historical thread is taken up by the text on the Habsburgs and the Archducal Brewery, and the article on Lake Żywiec leads you to the water. Families will find ideas in the round-up the Beskids with children.
Screenings are assigned mainly to Kino Janosik. Choose the cinema category and a day in the calendar, and you will see the list of dates.
Yes, but few compared with screenings. The calendar names several musical entries, and they may be connected with different places in town.
The calendar usually links plays with the Miejskie Centrum Kultury. Check on the listing which stage hosts a given title.
Press “Kup bilet” on the chosen listing, and the portal sends you to the organiser’s online box office for that date.
