A neo-Gothic parish church in Miasteczko Śląskie built in 1905-1908 to a design by Oskar Hoßfeld, entered in the heritage register.
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Miasteczko Śląskie is a brick neo-Gothic church from the early 20th century, entered in the heritage register. It stands on Dworcowa Street, right next to the older, wooden church.
Miasteczko Śląskie originally belonged to the parish in Żyglin, but the residents wanted a parish of their own. In 1898 an extension of the wooden church dedicated to St George and the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was considered, that is, the older wooden church. In the end, in 1900, the Royal Government decided to build a new church next to the old one.
The design was prepared by the architect Oskar Hoßfeld, and the builder was Hudemann. The foundation stone was blessed on 3 September 1905, and the finished church was blessed on 5 November 1908. An independent parish was established on 1 February 1914. In 1935 the church was electrified, in 1937 the relics of Blessed Bronisława were brought into it, and during the war two bells were requisitioned. In 1948 the church received a bell from another church. Bishop Herbert Bednorz consecrated it on 18 September 1966.
