Góra Grojec nature reserve: a beech forest on a limestone hill in the municipality of Woźniki
The Góra Grojec nature reserve protects an isolated limestone hill covered with beech forest in the municipality of Woźniki. It was established on 31 October 1996, and its area is 17.53 hectares.
The tree stand is dominated by European beech, with an admixture of spruce, fir, sycamore, hornbeam, oak and lime. The undergrowth includes protected plants such as mezereon, martagon lily, lily of the valley and angular Solomon's seal.
The reserve is a habitat for birds, including the great spotted woodpecker, the nightingale and the jay, as well as amphibians (the common toad) and reptiles (the adder and the slow worm). The hill is being damaged by bicycle rides, so in the reserve you must move in accordance with its protection rules.
Not far away are the Rajchowa Góra reserve and the Palace in Czarny Las.
