A clearing on the Borucz ridge in the Żywiec Beskids, former Cisiec fields, now with a ski run.
Hala Borucz is a broad clearing on the ridge of Borucz peak in the Żywiec-Orawa Beskids, above Żabnica. The peak is also sometimes called Ostry or Ostry Wierch.
Despite the name, it is not a classic mountain pasture. It is the former arable fields and meadows of the village of Cisiec, which occupy the western part of the ridge and descend the north-western slopes towards the Cisiec fields. There are huts on the clearing, and a second, smaller clearing with huts lies behind a strip of forest on the eastern side of the summit.
The meadow is no longer used for farming. It has been levelled and turned into a ski run, so in winter it is a place for skiing, and out of season a clearing with views. The condition of the ski equipment is worth checking before you set out.
